I am an obsessive fisherman and love painting fish. I thought pike would be a ‘natural’ for my ‘stained glass’ style and this was the second fish I painted in this style.

Growing up in the Black Hills this is a local icon. With the

thousands that visit Sturgis annually for the Bike Rally, I

thought this would make for a great selling print.

I see eyes as ‘meta-phorical’. I see them both as gem-like in

their beauty and representative of so many aspects of the

human condition and animal senses. I incorporate them in a

lot of my art and sometimes as elements in nature.

The cutout was painted on a ‘wood blank’ I had for my reproductions of a realistic brown trout. A play on ‘rainbow’ inspired the spectral band across the body. ‘Glass’ refers to my stained glass style.

I’ve always been fascinated with dragonflies and this is the second

painting of one to date – I anticipate doing more. Their wings are a

‘natural’ for my ‘stain glass style’ as they are already segmented.

Thought for a long time about doing a painting of seahorse. Did a watercolor I was never completely happy with. A few years later when I started working in my stained glass style, thought about reworking the watercolor. So over top I painted with acrylics and segmented the body and what was a solid background into wavy, watery shapes with bubbles. I also used some markers in a few spots.

This painting was basically inspired by the name given

to the breed of wild American horses that are white with blotches: American Paint. I also am a huge fan of Gustav Klimt and some of the ‘ornamentation’ within the horse is a nod to his work.

If interested in buying my art, whether original or reproductions, please contact me. Long term goal is to set up online sales and inventory. May take a while.

All my original works are framed. Some of the frames are very heavy so until I can automate my gallery pricing and shipping I will probably have to do custom price and shipping quotes

(depending on 'ship to' location).

I do have several framed reproductions as well, hope to eventually link photos of all available reproductions as framed, for now if you would like to see framing pics, let me know.

Unframed reproductions will be shipped in poster tubes.

While I do not have prints of all my work in stock I do have a lot, and with at least a week or two turnaround I can get to the print shop and get reproductions printed.

The prints are available in their original size and most can be printed smaller as well. Let me know what you are interested in.
